How to encourage people in your community to share their knowledge and hobbies with others. All Barnet residents are welcome to join, even if they don’t currently belong to an organised community.

Zero Waste Festive Craft Market
Date: Sunday, 1st December, 11am-3pm

Eco Show and Tell is joining the Friern Barnet Festive Craft Market, with a variety of hands-on creative, eco-friendly workshops. Our sustainable creatives will help you use upcycled materials to make Christmas decorations, cards, gifts, fabric gift wraps – learn the Japanese method Furoshiki & more

Eco Show and Tell – Air Quality Day
National Clean Air Day (20th June) is a day dedicated to highlighting the impact of air pollution on
our health and the environment. The day aims to educate, raise awareness, and mobilise collective
action to improve air quality for the benefit of all.
As Clean Air Day falls during Barnet Climate Action Month we are inviting people from across Barnet
to come together to explore how to take action to help improve our air quality and make Barnet
more sustainable.
The Eco Show and Tell event will have a variety of stalls with information and activities.

Eco Show and Tell Sustainability Fair @ East Barnet Festival
An eco-friendly fair within the East Barnet festival, showcasing some great local initiatives around protecting nature, reducing waste and living more sustainably, this will include displays, workshops and activities. There will also be sustainable artists selling their goods made from upcycled materials.

Gift Swap & Launch
Welcome to the Finchley Sharing Spaces Launch & Gift Swap event! Join us at the Finchley Church End Library for a fun-filled evening of sharing and swapping second-hand gifts with your community. This in-person event is the perfect opportunity to connect with neighbours, make new friends, and exchange unique second-hand gifts. Sustainable Fashion/ Home/ Personal care
Our 2nd Sharing Space session will focus on sustainable fashion and home-care. The eve nt will include a clothes swap so bring any unwanted clothes (in great condition!) and take some lovely new pieces. Learn how to sell your pre-loved clothes on Vinted – by Penny Salman (@threadsforpenny).

Let’s cook together @ JVS
Community vegan cooking demonstrations and tasting, focussing on main dishes. You’ll be able to join in the cooking, as the venue has lots of cooking stations.
There will be 3 dishes cooked, showcasing the borough’s diverse cultures. In this event we will cook: Chilli No Carne, a Mexican dish, with Paloma. Rajwadi Khichdi, a Gujarati dish, with Krupal of North London Tiffins. Golders Bean with Philip.
We will also host a kitchenware swap, so bring any kitchen item in good condition, and choose a new-to-you item to take home.
Get your creativity flowing by using natural dye (made from onion skins) or use flowers to create beautiful decorations, with Sharon Mitchell, @leafthiefprint.

Make beeswax wraps: reduce plastic food packaging by using a reusable bendy wrap made from fabric and beeswax. It keeps your food fresh and can be washed to be reused again. Finchley’s Nature
4pm-5pm Let’s plant at Albert Place N3! In collaboration with Barnet Council’s Finchley Central Town Team. Help us add pollinator-friendly plants and mount a bee hotel to liven the town centre.
5pm-7pm at the library: come to share your knowledge, and learn from your neighbours including representatives from Finchley’s community gardens and open spaces. Including Finchley Central Energy Garden; Coppetts Wood Conservationists ;Finchley Pollinator Project and Cherry Tree Wood and Barnet Green Spaces.
Plants & seeds swap – bring and/or take surplus gardening materials
Green market: local jams from Miel De Lucie, treats from Impact Store, free seed paper and free refreshments.
Sow seeds and take the pot to grow. Enjoy a display of nature art.
Are you sporty? Join Paul from Good Gym for a stretch at the library, and then run to the nearby Tiny Forest @ Mutton Brook

Luggage Rummage & The Great Big Party
This is the 12th and last event at the Finchley Sharing Space event, so let’s make it a party celebrating everything we’ve achieved.
We are still planning the event, so far we have the following:
