The Eco Show and Tell is a community initiative based in Barnet, which aims to create friendly spaces where knowledge about climate change initiatives and solutions can be shared between neighbours.
The events are managed by Our Home Our Planet CIC.
How we started
In September 2021, Shiri Atsmon, a Finchley Church End resident and a campaigner with Barnet Friends of the Earth, wanted to host a social event where neighbours can share information about local environmental initiatives.
Still feeling the impact of Covid-19, this informal gathering took place at her family home’s driveway, and had hosted three speakers and 15 neighbours.

Fairs
Encouraged by good feedback from the driveway sharing session, Shiri has started to organise more knowledge-sharing events. The fairs have received some funding from Barnet Council Community Innovation Fund (2022) and North London Waste Authority’s North London Community Fund (2023).
Between September 2021 and November 2023 we have organised 15 Eco Show and Tell fairs.
